FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does online tutoring work?
Through personalized one on one sessions, you get nothing less than the best in education. Many ACT prep programs are groups of 10+ kids, for multiple hundreds of dollars. Your student will never get the proper attention that they require to perform their best. Through video call, you can get the full experience of a private tutor in the comfort of your home. This also allows us to take full advantage of all the resources and helpful programs through the internet.
How many tutoring sessions should I get, and how often?

No matter how bright a kid is, or how good of a tutor, there is only so much that can be done in a single hour. It benefits learning to have multiple shorter (one hour) sessions spread out over time. For best results and retained knowledge, you want a minimum of two hours per week meeting with a tutor, spread across different days.  For this reason, what I highly recommend for you to get is the ten session bundle. Five weeks of biweekly meetings, and you are guaranteed to see results. The last thing I want is for you to try and cram a four hour session days before the test, and be upset with your results.

How do you prep my child for the ACT, AP Calculus, or other standardized test?
After booking any test preparation with me, the first thing I will do is provide a practice test of the exact same format as the test you are preparing for. This is taken on your own time and provided at no additional fee. After taking this, I will review the results to hone in on exactly where you can improve the most.
What materials do I need for online tutoring?

On the technical side, you need nothing more than a computer and microphone (camera optional). Aside from that, you need everything you use to do math-pencil, paper, and calculator. There's nothing fancy required.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment through Paypal and Stripe (Alipay) certified transaction processors.
What subjects do you tutor in?
I tutor math and science of all levels, but primarily high school and university. For math, this includes Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. In science, this includes Physics 1, Physics 2, and Chemistry. I also offer specialized tutoring for the various standardized tests, including ACT/SAT, AP exams and more. If you want help with something not listed, just ask, and I will give you an honest assessment of my ability to help you.
